Fläschken: Hazy, golden to deep golden, medium-sized and slowly collapsing and lacy off-white head; dryish grassy and dusty nose with delicate yeasty traces; moderate dry bitter flavour, light bodied and a bit tart; dry lingering grassy and tart finish. Quite monotonous, not much more than a simple north-german Pilsener (!)...

*Bottle from a local Globus. Smooth caramelly beginning. Round and mild, floral hops. The back is slightly bittered, grainy smooth, malty and hints of caramel. Nice Amber Ale. Round and smooth with floral fresh hops on top.

Pours a deep copper color. Light malts, some wooliness in the finish. A bit light but refreshing. Harsh and yeasty after a while.

500ml can. As Bergbrau Pale Ale. (4.1% ABV) Pours a clear copper with a medium, creamy, off-white head that laces. Mild, sweet aroma of caramel malt and grain. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, biscuit, grain and just a hint of citrus in a mild bitter finish. Light body with a thin, watery texture and soft carbonation. Bland and boring. Missed the mark as an APA.

Bottle, 0.33l. Clear ruby amber color with thin creamy off-white head, good lacing and sparkling appearance. Aroma is grassy, worty and honeyish. Taste starts with light sweet caramel, following is grassy, mild fruity and chalky with smooth mouthfeel and mild bitter finish. Light body, thin texture and average carbonation in palate. BPA - boring pale ale...

Bottle, Aldi. Gold with a fading white head. Aroma is floral with biscuit dough, faint spices. Moderate biscuity sweetness but a bit thinner than you'd hop for 5%. Considerably more bitter than expected with a weedy metallic bitey element at the dry end.

Bottle. Gold with a smallish white head. 3- Grainy aroma with lemon and light spices. But it's clean enough and the malt side of things seems a little smoother and fatter upon a taste. The lemon doesn't seem to register and there is an appropriate punchiness to the spices at the moderately bitter finish. Not bad.

Bottle. Giant white completely fills the glass. More success pouring after a while - cloudy orange with a huge white head. Aroma is more crackers and vanilla than bread and banana. Fairly strong cloves. Taste is a little softer. Not a lot of finesse but a nice dry spicy finish with some bitterness. I washed my 1/3l hefe glass and it would have easily filled a 1/2l one - but no other complaints.
