Braugold Bock, 6,8 %, Flasche von Edeka, Niederorschel. - Kupferrot, klar. (21.11.2021.)

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Hereford Beer House. ABV noted at 5.2%. Pours very slightly hazed honey-gold with a modest, foamy white head. Lightly sweet with fresh biscuits, crunchy cereal, lightly toasted grains, straw, a hint of grass. Light bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with further fresh biscuity mats, lightly bitter hay. Very nice beer.

Bottle online from Beers Of Europe. Pours a deep mahogany colour with a medium sized creamy beige head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel, brown bread, fruit cake and a little tobacco. Taste is more of the same with some added toasty notes. A touch of molasses and brown sugar on the finish but not too much. Nicely balanced and alcohol disguised well for the abv. Full body, fairly low carbonation and smooth meaty mouthfeel. Excellent Doppelbock and one of the best yet i have tried. Recommended.
