ON TAP at Smokehouse. Murky darkest brown, almost black, soapy dark beige head. Smells like roasted cereals, oily grains, a bit of that fecal roasted grains edge, but not too offensive here (unlike the porter). The taste is really dry (can hardly feel a bit of burnt sugars and only on the first sip). Acrid roasty bitterness and quite a hoppy pungent bitter finish. The body is quite smooth, if a bit watery due to the lack of carbonation. Quite ok, on the drier side of Irish stouts. Just do something with those smelly cereals...

FEB-2020. Draft. Hazy bright yellow, creamy white head. Very bubble gummy fruity aroma, with lots of dried herbal spice on top, basil mostly. The taste is reduced sweetness pale malts, white bread crust moslty, faint fruity notes and a touch of spicy hops. So clean, almost feels lifeless. 3,2/5.

APR-2019. Hazy straw, white head. Smells of orange lollipops, no coriander, no citrus freshness. The taste is even worse - artificial fruit flavoured drink with some wild herbs, flat carbonation (as served at Craft Baza Botanica / Nitro-CO2 mix).
2,9/5.

23-OCT-2017. PET growler. Murky pale yellow, creamy head. Nice pale stone fruit and flowery aroma without being bubble gummy, dash of coriander, clean and classic. Quenching light fruity taste with good carbonation and wheaty tartness. No spice or bitterness in the finish. Clean, no paper, dust etc. Nicely done. 7-3-7-4-14=3,5

25-FEB-2016. TAP at Smokehouse. Cloudy straw, white creamy head. Vague (or none?) fruity citrusy notes, muted Witty notes - not the perfumy kind - juts some tartness and lots of CO2 acidity. Mild bitter finish. A little dirty unfortunately (light dirty socks kind of thing). 5-3-6-3-11=2,8.

ON TAP at Smokehouse. Well, it has that cheesy/dirty socks thing in the aroma, but it has settled down a bit. Got clearer too. Still, a caramel/malt-drive IPA it a mellow zesty bitterness. Not bad. 6-3-7-3-14=3.3

14-DEC-2015. PET at home. Murky amber-brown, smallish light beige head. The aroma is not that strong - even their regular Pale Ale is more aromatic - citrus ans zesty, with very little malts. Unfortunately, it has a light rotten vegetable off-flavour. Taste: moderate caramel malts and then it’s all hops - citrus, very pungent zesty and piney - from early on until late into the finish. The body is ok, though I wouldn’t mind more body or taste, especially earlier before the hops kick in. The hop bitterness is strong and pleasant, but it would be nice to use ore hops for aroma and flavour too. Not bad, but needs some polishing. 6-2-7-3-13=3.1

ON TAP at Smokehouse. Well, the acid bite is gone when it’s colder. An the sweet and spicy character does not seem as weird. upping the rate a few tenths...

ON TAP at Smokehouse. Cloudy red-brown, beige head. Aroma: malts and caramel with quite a bit of spiced (and fermented) pumpkin. Together, the spice and the sugars give a gingerbread feel to the beer. A hint of fermenting must and/or acidity. Taste: now it’s more clove than ginger, balancing the fruity-vegetal character of the pumpkin. Almost no hop bitterness. The after taste has a touch of acetic acidity, again, reminding you about fermenting must. Rich, but easy drinking body.

500ml draught from Smokehouse (initially thought it was the pale ale). Slightly cloudy orange with a medium sized white head. Aroma is citrus, hops. Taste is fruity, again hoppy citrus, dry. Bitter finish. Very enjoyable.

TAP at Smokehouse. Hazy amber. Toasted dark bread, bit oily. Dryish dark bready malts, a bit phenolic. Not bad overall. 6-4-6-3-11=3,0

18-DEC-2015. OK, after several months it seems to be getting closer to what an amber ale is supposed to be. Gentle bready malts and caramel, mild lightly sweet taste. The taste is not completely smooth, as it still has a bit of that astringency/acidity, but only lightly so. It is a decent draft amber lager now. 5-3-5-3-11=2,7

MAY-JUL-2015. ON TAP. Tried several times, but unlike their other beers, this one always had some kind of flaw. The aroma is weak with a distinct funky and sourish note. The taste is also overly dry, lightly sour and astringent, kind of young. The rich maltiness that you would expect from a Vienna is not there. 4-3-4-2-7=2.0

The second batch is much better, with a nice chocolaty and fresh fruity aroma. Some yeastiness that does not seem appropriate. The taste is moderately sweet, light chocolate, and just a bit of tannins that work well, drying the beer up.

17-MAY-2015. TAP from the brewery. First batch. It is black with pretty clear red highlights, beige head with subpar retention. The aroma is simple roasted malts and coffee beans, a touch of green fruit tartness. The taste is similar - dry and roasty, moderate hop bitterness. Clean, no off-flavours, just too simplistic and boring. 6-3-5-2-12=2.8

TAP at Smokehouse. Hazy golden. Rosebud marmalade. Similar taste, a bit too sticky, sharp pungent bitterness. Nice and clean, but sweetish. 6-4-6-3-13=3,2

11-FEB-2016. Well, they have made some progress over the first year - the beer got progressively cleaner, less yeasty, less hazy and a bit drier. It is a quality session pale ale now. 7-4-7-3-14=3.5

17-MAY-2015. TAP from the brewery. Hazy amber, medium off-white head. Hop-dominated aroma, fresh hops, green hops, grapefruit, zesty, light fruit. Not much caramel, in fact, the malt profile is pretty subdued. The taste is a tad less interesting - dry, zesty hops, a bit of dankness, fresh hops. Again, the malts are really far behind the hops. The carbonation is a tad prickly. Dry, clean and pleasant hop bitter finish. Yep, craft beer is here, finally. 7-3-6-3-13=3.2
