First rating33 cl bottle on Sticky Fingers (rock/metal bar) in Göteborg, on June 16, 2017. At official release of the beer.Clear pale golden color, white head. Hoppy, citrus, bitter, some zest and a hint of pith taste, still fresh. Medium smooth and a bit fizzy mouthfeel, medium to medium high bitterness. Citrus, bitter, pith aftertaste. Hoppy, citrus, some alcohol scent. Some caramel and citrus marmalade as well.Didn’t pick up any rye character. Walked up to Daniel (brewer) that was onsite and did a bit of Q&A. This beer was brewed a bit in a panic since they hadn’t finished some part of their own brewery, instead brewed at Lycke. The malt mill at Lycke is pretty much one setting, so the slimmer rye malt mainly passed through unmilled, hence lower OG and no real rye character in this batch. The upcoming batch from the actual Odd Island physical brewery is stated to be quite different.I’ll try and rerate when the successful version of the beer is out, I just hope I like it as much or even better, this failed version was quite delicious though.7/3/8/4/15=3.7RerateRBESG 2017, Grand Tasting, sampled on July 22, 2017.From bottle.Hazy pale golden color, white head. Bottled, from Systembolaget. Hazy pale golden, mid sixed head. Rich aroma of mango and passionfruit. Mid sweet with medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Tangerine, pine, guava and passsionfruit dominates. Mid bitter finish. Harmonious and well made. Perhaps the beer produced by these guys is more trendy and easily accessible than the disturbingly inconvenient and and deeply moving metal they’ve done. Multitalented people...
