Bottled. Pale yellow colour, huge foamy head, lacing. Malty sweet aroma. Weak malty flavour, very watery. Hayish malty bitter aftertaste.

Bottled (BB 10/2005)
This beer has been praised in Estonia.
Reddish golden color, creamy white head. Skunked grassy hoppy nose. Basic malty lager with some bitterness in the finish. Some juniper notes. Not much to praise for.

(Bottle 50 cl) Light golden, nice creamy head. Very light body, but a pretty good hoppiness - and that’s about it. Yet another Estonian lager of good quality, but jeez there’s a lot of them... 160105

(Bottle 50 cl) I believe Le Coq use their ordinary porter as the base for this but adding a little bit extra of everything on the ingredient-list. Very dark if not excatly black, light brown head. Good full body and solid, very burned notes from the malts with an underlying sweetness and a pronounced bitterness. A very solid porter. 140604

(Bottle 50 cl) I do not understand Estonian and hence cannot read the back label of this beer. Therefore it’s still a complete mystery to me, why this is called a black beer. This beer is golden - dark golden at the most - with a fairly decent head. Fullbodied, sweetish with a hint of hops. This is a pretty OK strong lager. But "Black"? No way. And "Schwarzbier"?? Come on... 071103

(Bottle 50 cl) From German "Double Bocks" I’m used to the type being a strong, dark, malty lager. But this Estonian variety is only dark golden - at the most. But the alcohol is definitely there. On the other hand the head has gone missing - completely. Not that different from Danish Strong lagers as for instance "Elephant Beer". Sweetish and very potent without the strong alcohol making it exactly cloying. But not an exciting beer. 201003

(Bottle 50 cl) Golden, a little pale, limited head. Very light, almost no body and only a hint of hops. But LOADS of carbonation. Very ordinary. 270903

(Bottle 50 cl) Sort of a "historic" Baltic Porter put back into production i 1999. Dark reddish brown rather than porter-black, pretty light brown head. Dry and bitterish but not very fullbodied. Michael Jackson claims that this new version of the beer is more of a dark lager than a porter and I tend to agree. 250903

(Bottle 50 cl) Golden beer with a limited head. Quite malty and sweet. Just an ordinary lager, but quite pleasant as such. Sort of an younger brother to "Premium Extra" from the same brewery. 180903

(Bottle 50 cl) Oh dear, I hadn’t really noticed the alcohol percentage on this before I had my first sip. But even though this is strong indeed, it’s not completely unpleasant as other lagers of the same type. Fully golden, absolutely no head. Sweet and fullbodied. OK as such. 150903
