Bottle (shared by marduk, thanks). Pours amber with whiteish head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is diacetyl, sweetness, malt. Flavor follows the nose, also has some sour notes. Overall : bad.

Bottle @ hotelroom, Liepaja, Latvia. Pours very dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, bread, dark chocolate, caramel, some licorice. Flavor is malts, caramel, dark chocolate, toasted bread, licorice. Medium body, soft carbonation. 141015

Bottle (thanks, Marduk!). Pours amber without head. Aroma is sweet, diacetyl, malt. Flavor is sweet, malt, caramel. Body is flat. Overall: bottle was oxidised, but even considering that I didn’t see good beer behind it. (Added some extra points to overall, so that the rating would be more fair).

50cl bottle as a gift from H. bought at Valmiermuižas Alus, Valmiermuiža, Latvia. Pours very dark brown with a rather modest, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts with dark chocolate, some dark fruits, licorice and hints of vanilla and coffee. Fairly sweet and roasty, but a somewhat mild bitterness is present. (Bottle, 0.5 l - 2014 vintage, at laiti’s, 20150613, thanks) The beer poured brown and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had malts, molasses and weetness. Palate was full bodied and mildly warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, molasses, bread, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. Nice malty brew.

500ml bottle [Big thanks to Tanja & Verena!]. Clear, dark, reddish, chestnut colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge, treacle, a minimally grainy touch. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty, minimally roasty, some malt lozenge, very cautious hints of bone-dry dark chocolate; a grainy and a wet strawy touch sadly cause minimal defilement.
