Description
The origin of the brewery go back to 1968 when Henninger Hellas company, the local Greek distributor of the German Henninger beer, was founded. In 1994 it was renamed as Northern Greece Brewery. In 1997 Mythos Beer was introduced, and in 2001 the company renamed itself as the Mythos Brewery S.A. Since 2008 it has been a subsidiary of Carlsberg Group. In 2014 a restructured Olympic Brewery was established after the merger of Mythos and Olympic.
Olympic Brewery is a strong and reliable company in the domestic beer market. Combining Greek DNA and the global imprint of the Carlsberg Group dynamics, it is a key player that not only envisions, but can also change the beer map of Greece. In 2018 Carlsberg acquired the remaining 49% in Olympic Brewery. When Mythos Brewery and Olympic merged in 2014, Carlsberg already had already gained a controlling 51 % share in the company.

One of the 4 Genesis Beer. A rather new Microbrewer. Their Weiss Beer. Typical hazy golde ncoloar with big foamy head. Banana is the dominant flavor with some typical yeasty notes, wheat. Not bad but lacks of originality and is a bit watery.

Bottled (BB 02/2008)
Clear amber color, decent cloudy off-white head. Cardboardish, ashy, grassy, caramelly aroma. Caramelly with grassy and papery flavor. Typical low-quality Vienna. This bottle was a bit past its prime.

I actually liked this lager, but don’t they all taste great on holiday? A malty sweet lager, no bitterness, but very crisp and fresh, grassy. And thin.

Bottled (thanks brunnsbe!). Reddish amber colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is caramel malts, weird sweetness and some toffeeish diacetyl. Flavour is sweet malts, mild acidicness and some fudge. Quite papery notes too.

Drank this the whole time I was in Greece. It’s refreshing but like everything else in the Greek beer scene just not special.

Bottle. Body is a nice golden color (darker than many) and head originally sat at around a finger... but has died back a bit as I logged on. Pretty nice looking lager. Aromas are of grassy hops, a bit of skunk and adjunct. Flavor is kind of soapy and a little disappointing.
