Description
The origin of the brewery go back to 1968 when Henninger Hellas company, the local Greek distributor of the German Henninger beer, was founded. In 1994 it was renamed as Northern Greece Brewery. In 1997 Mythos Beer was introduced, and in 2001 the company renamed itself as the Mythos Brewery S.A. Since 2008 it has been a subsidiary of Carlsberg Group. In 2014 a restructured Olympic Brewery was established after the merger of Mythos and Olympic.
Olympic Brewery is a strong and reliable company in the domestic beer market. Combining Greek DNA and the global imprint of the Carlsberg Group dynamics, it is a key player that not only envisions, but can also change the beer map of Greece. In 2018 Carlsberg acquired the remaining 49% in Olympic Brewery. When Mythos Brewery and Olympic merged in 2014, Carlsberg already had already gained a controlling 51 % share in the company.

I am starting to wonder if the myth is that there are really any good Greek beers out there. Clear golden color with a short-lived thin white head and hardly any lacing. The aroma is somewhat skunky with a light hoppiness underneath. Light-bodied and carbonated with a sour hops flavor along with some sour malt for balance. The finish was equally unpleasant. I can only assume this was a bad bottle but it was highly undrinkable.

The aroma is sweet malty with a clear presence of sourness and mash-tun. The color is light orange and it has a beutiful white head. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, aroma hops, oranges, peaches, and with the hops prickling the tongue in a slightly bitter end. An OK flavor but the body is thin.

Pours a pale gold very clear and tons of bubbles, small white head. Has a slightly floral pepperiness on the nose with maybe a touch of not so fresh malt on the nose. Begins crisp and lightly hopped. Has a distinct sharp floral aroma that adds a peppery element. Ends in a pleasant light honey flavor. Light body, lots of carbonation. Flavors are good, everything is in very light proportions.

Blond color. Simple aroma and flavor: malt and hay; honey; a light sweetness in the middle, mixing with a flowery note.

Bottled. Pale golden. Neutral aroma. Medium bodied and rather sweet with some late bitterness. Clean and drinkable middle-of-the-road lager.

Not really great, but about what I'd expect from a plain lager from overseas. Tastes like any other plain lager from overseas. Had a little fruity flavor to it but that was all I could find to comment on.
