Blue bottle from Mitra Bunnik, BB 08-19. Slight hazy copper color, short frothy head. Aroma of lots of dark bread, some roast and a hint of blackcurrant. More sweetness in taste than I expected, butterscotch, and slight mocha and roasty bitterness, some licoricey saltiness. I dont get the schwarzbier part: just because you use a lot of dark malts, doesnt make it a schwarzbier. Did they really intend to brew that style?

Small yellowish head over deep darker foxy brown beer. Chocolate, spicy leaves, bit peppery, roasted nuts, liquorice. Immediate stout-like acidity, remarkably with overtones of roast, nuts, liquorice. Main taste is sweet-roasty. In the aftertaste, there's a build-up of roaste bitter. Light body, kinda grist-slick. Medium carbonation. Less dry than most Schwarz, but pleasing enough; decent balance. 6/4/7/3/13
