Bottle. Pale/golden beer with a thin head. The aroma is basically malty and the flavour is chemically bitter with a heavily sweet body. Overall a standard beer of this type.

This beer seems to need a split in the RateBeer database - my 330 ml bottle (in France), simply named Chang Beer, was a typical standard pale lager at 5.0% ABV, and can’t possibly be "the same beer" as a 6.4% "malt liquor"??!! Anyhow, my beer pours with a golden colour and a large head. "Neutral" lager flavour, not offensive, moderate sweetness. Okay with a spicy Thai meal.

Canned. Pale yellow with rich, stable head. Papery aroma. Sweet and medium bodied with plenty of vegetables but no bitterness. Yawn.

Pale golden color, good big creamy foam. Malty, rice-like aroma. Light. Mostly sweet malty with hints of corn. Light bitterness in the aftertaste. Propably at its best when drinked ice cold on Thai beach.

Bottle. Another pale lager. Not much reason to choose this one before others - unless you are looking for a pale lager with a bit higher abv.

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Week but OK aroma. Nice malty flavor and oily palate. Actually a nice beer.

Bottle White, frothy head, which diminishes totally. Clear blond body. Hoppy, lightly yeasty aroma. Lightly bitter flavour, very weak.

(Bottle 33 cl) Market-leading beer in Thailand and used to be brewed in a joint venture with Carlsberg before the two companys got into a fierce series of mutual lawsuits. "Chang" means elephant (or "big") and don’t the two elephants on the label look suspiciously like Carlsberg’s elephants? Pale, strong lager with a pronounced hop-bite and an underlying sweetness. Alcohol is well hidden. A bit tough to call this a "malt liquour", I believe it’s better and more refined than that. 101103

An orange beer with a nice white head. The aroma is slightly sour - is it brewing cereal? but also caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with some sour notes, it must be brewing cereal. The flavor also has notes of metal and a little caramel. The end is dry flat metal. Thanks to Alex (fiulijn) for bringing this to Denmark before it was available here.

Golden colour, no head. Aroma is faint, silghtly appley. Faint alcohol note, silght grain are the highlights of the light and lifeless palate.
