This conglomerate magnate comes from India, and it runs its operations from the head office in the Karnataka State in UB City. United Breweries Holdings Limited (UB Group) is yet another company that is almost omnipresent in every field or business. It started out as a British brewery subsidiary only to become a market leader on the global scene. It also contributes significantly to the Indian economy with its different undertakings with million and billion worth turnovers.
In June 2021, Heineken N.V. increased their stake in the company to 61.5%, taking control of United Breweries.
Bottled(330ml). -from some random store in Wien. BBE: 05.12.2008. Light hazy yellow coloured, small white head, n/a cardboardish nose. Stale honey and cardboard taste, quite watery. Boring. If queen tastes like this, I’m afraid how would king be like.
Bottle courtesy of and shared with ogivlado who found it somewhere in Wien (thanks!) Poured a hazy yellow body with a thick white head that took its time to go away. The nose is reminiscent of n/a beers. Soggy cornflakes and honey. Hm. The taste is stale, honey, alcohol, slight but bitter hopiness. A bit soapy, overall crude. Blah. 11.5°
Bottle as shown. Pours a clear yellow gold with a small frothy white head that leaves behind good sticky lacing. The aroma is a corn malt wiith yeast and bread. The taste is a crisp corn malt with a dry finish. Not much going on with this pale lager.
Bottled@omhper. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is barnyard, shit, rotten vegetables and some slight alcohol. Flavour is quite much the same along with honeylike sweetness. Brutal stuff.
Bottled from Pune, Maharashtra. Clear golden, no head. Fruity vegetable aroma. Sweet and honeyish. edgy and hard with piney alcohol. Tolerable, but not more (which is kind the best you can hope for in commercial strong Indian beers....)
Bottled in Pune, Maharshtra (Brewed by Bombay Breweries (UB)). Pale golden, rich head. Fruity syrupy nose. Mushy flavour of paper and stale vegetables. Dryish and light bodied with unfirm mouthfeel. Finishes without bitterness. The dryness and the lack of hard egde in combination with the relative harmless level of the off-flavour gives it some minor refreshing qualities, but there is nothing enjoyable here.
Bottled in Pune, Maharashtra (Brewed by Bombay Breweries (UB)). Clear pale golden, rich airy head. Sweet ricey aroma with slight notes of fusels. Medium bodied with soapy rounded mouthfeel. The akcohol is fairly well hidden, and the sweetness is also well masked. The downpart is the mushy mouthfeel and the lack of real flavour. Finishes fruity without bitterness.
