United Breweries Holdings Limited (UB Group) is yet another company that is almost omnipresent in every field or business. It started out as a British brewery subsidiary only to become a market leader on the global scene. It also contributes significantly to the Indian economy with its different undertakings with million and billion worth turnovers.

In June 2021, Heineken N.V. increased their stake in the company to 61.5%, taking control of United Breweries.

22 ounce bottle at an Indian restaurant north of Charlottesville, VA. Pours a pale straw yellow color with a medium head. Average head retention and decent lacing. Aroma is grain, hay and some green appleish fruity notes. Taste is grainy with a slightly tart finish. Medium bodied.

33cl Bottle (present). A new country in the statistics (that’s the positive). A lager that I will (hopefully) quickly forget (that;s obviously the negative part). Watery, thin, flavorless and uninspired.

Canned. Lightly hazy straw colour, no head. Vegetable soup aroma. Sweetish and fruity with blown up fizzy mouthfeel. There’s paper and vegetables, but no bitterness. Non-refreshing and rather foul tasting.

Bottle. Sweet malts, light earth notes, and the very faintest of hops in this lager. It seemed to have a little skunk in it, as well. Went alright with my curry, but I’ll pass next time.

Cloudy golden with a tiny white head. Aroma had cellar, earth, caramel and malty notes. Flavour was sweet with caramel and flavour had cardboard and caramel.
