Bottle from His Nibs in Anaheim. Pours dark brown with a slight tan head. Aroma is very clean - but it doesn’t exactly suggest either bourbon or malt. More floral/fruit! Quite full bodied. Flavor is sort of herbal/floral, followed by bourbon, wood, chocolate, and smooth dark malt (not treacle). There’s also a "mint" aspect. This is very complicated stuff, and my ability to parse is inadequate. It’s pretty dry, and has flavors that may not be exactly bitter, but do serve that purpose. On the last ingestion the nose went perfume. Floral perfume I’d say. Ok. To iterate. Complex. I am really impressed overall. Glad I found this.

Pours orange withs some white foam. Nose is displaying a lot of coffee, somewhat grainy at the same time. Pale coffee beer, never been a huge fan of those but well, they are unique, I give them that. Taste of this one is like a slightly sour coffee, Nordic style. Grainy still and still more coffee. I wonder if it also has caffeine? Finish is getting somewhat milder. White stout, hmmm.

500 ml bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Clear golden orange with a good two fingers of off-white head. Nice coconut aroma along with some rum, oak, light citrus and floral notes. Tastes of charred oak, rum, some coconut and vanilla, a little floral, subtle citrus. Medium body with a dry finish. Solid.
