Description
The brewery was founded by Phil and Cynthia “Scuttle” Bannan in 1996 with a 20 barrel system in the brew house, two 20 barrel fermenters and one 20 barrel bright tank. Since then our capacity has grown and we have broadened our product line to include more than 20 styles of hand-crafted ales and lagers.
After more than 20 years Scuttlebutt Brewing Company remains family owned and independent.

Since the beginning Scuttlebutt beers have been brewed in Everett with the Northwest’s finest ingredients – barley from Vancouver, Washington, hops from the Yakima Valley, a proprietary yeast from Odell, Oregon and some of the nation’s finest drinking water from the Spada Reservoir in the Cascade Mountains. Our beers are clean, balanced and have been brewed with care for over 17 years.

12 oz can from a 6 pack picked up at the local grocer. Attractive can, and you can't lose with a mosaic pale in my opinion. Canned 10/4/22. I've come across a few enjoyable, very much affordable six packs from Scuttlebutt, and this one might be my new favorite. Really nice hop forward melon and juicy character. Refreshing IPA, with a quick bite. It took me all 6 of these over the last two weeks to notice it's imperial status. I don't know where they hide the booze. Drinks just like a normal IPA, and if I had to tilt it in either direction, I'd call it sessionable. Wonderful cool piney linger late. Excellent execution of the solo hop showcase. Gem hidden in plain sight in my local here. Love this one.

12 oz. Aroma has a fleeting note of vomit before some more pleasant notes come out, such as pineapple, clove, bubblegum, SweeTarts. Pours cloudy orange-golden with a long-lasting cream-white head with excellent retention. Taste is moderately sweet, lightly tart, with spicy and fruity flavors matching the aroma descriptors. Ignoring the off-note, this is a fun and tasty beer.

Bottle at the Hangover. Lots of hops, decent maltiness, less chewy than usual dipa. Little hit of sweetness. Full bodied. Nice.

Tap at the Watering Hole. Amber colour, small off white creamy head. Aroma is strong citrus hops, touch of stink, slightly resinous. Taste is citrus bitter, decent bready malt behind it. Quite fresh fruitiness. Hint of lemon washing up liquid. Nice enough though. Easy drinking. --- Beer merged from original tick of Gale Force IPA - Fresh Hop on 09 Sep 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 8. Dark amber colour, hazy. A bit earthy, thin, with some celery note and creamy oak.
Not a fan of this beer.
