About
Birra Amarcord was born in 1997 in Rimini to a number of friends who, like the famous song, wanted to change the world (of Italian beer). Birra Amarcord was born to and in a region, Romagna. It is the upshot of a dream that began 20 years ago and which today has come true. It is also the upshot of a constant and relentless passion. Later on, Birra Amarcord also became "a family history," inasmuch as two generations of the Bagli family carry on this dream with dedication, thanks to top-quality raw materials but above all thanks to the people who, together with them, every day work to create one-of-a-kind products. Making good beer is not at all simple.

Although the registered office still is in Rimini, their brewery is since 2015 located in Apecchio.

Keg at Warsaw Beer Festival, 07/04/17. Black with a decent tan head. Nose is chocoalte biscuit, spice, toffee, dark fruit shreds. Taste comprises fruit cake, cocoa powder, toffee, roast malts, charr, toasted brown sugars. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, drying close. Ok but lacks depth comapred to others from the style at this festival.

Bottle. Dark-brown color, good creamy foam. Aroma: sweet, wine, caramel, fruit esters, plum wine and dried fruits, prunes. Taste: caramel, bitter chocolate, prunes and port wine, grappa, roasted, bitter finish, warming. Pleasant beer.

Butelka 355ml (BB 09.01.2019). Piwo ciemno brązowe z rubinowymi odcieniami pod światło. Piana beżowa, bardzo drobna o kremowej konsystencji, obfita, trwała z ładnym lacingiem. Aromat owocowy z suszonymi rodzynkami, lekkim utlenieniem, taki słodowy, średnio intensywny ale bardzo przyjemny. W smaku podobnie jak w aromacie, dominuja nuty utlenienia, owocow, suszonych rodzynek, podkreslone srednia, nieco zalegajaca, choc w przyjemny sposob, goryczką. Ciala jakos za duzo nie ma, jest delikatna owocowa slodycz, i mimo, ze alkohol delikatnie rozgrzewa od srodka to piwo wydaje sie jakby nieco pustawe na finiszu, takie bez kropki nad "i", pozostaje pewien niedosyt. Niemniej piwo jest ciekawe zwlaszcza ze swoimi owocowo-utlenionymi nutami.

Közepes, gyorsan eltűnő hab, fekete szín. Kávés, kakaós, aszalt gyümölcsös illat. Kávés, kakaós, kissé karamelles, aszalt gyümölcsös, cseresznyés ízek. Közepesen testes, enyhén szénsavas, közepesen kesernyés. Szuper sör.

355ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, mostly lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Dark malty aroma with hints of toffee and mint, salty liquorice. Taste is moderately bitter, roasty dark malty and herbal hoppy, notes of salty liquorice and mint, a touch of toffee, minimally ashy and metallic interludes; lasting bitter hoppy and minimally sticky liquorice finish.

Bottle from Piwoteka in Lodz. Ladna butelka i ladnie wygladajace piwo po nalaniu. Czarne geste ze srednia piana i srednio trwala. Zapch wystygnietej dobrej wloskiej kawy. W smaku kawa, lekka palonosc, likier czekoladowy i rozgrzewajacy alkohol, ktory jest sprytnie ukryty. Bylo by lepsze i bardziej wytrawne bez tego cukru z Malawi. Tak bym preferowal.

33cl bottle @ ISKTR 2017. Poured dark brown color with a thin white head. Bready malts, mild spices, sweetness. Bland, bready flavor. Sweet.
