Draft. Deep clear amber color, thin wispy white head. Aroma of big bourbon, cocoa. Taste has more bourbon that overwhelms the beery characteristics.

Refrigerated brown bomber, from blutt59, with one finger beige head which takes some time to dissipate. Dark brown with small medium brown highlight. Aroma is roasted malt/banana, medium body, medium carbonation, slightly creamy texture, and medium small-bubble lacing. Taste is roasted malt, banana, esters, hints of clove, and dryer finish. As much as a dopplebock as a weizenbock. Nice amount of flavor, alcohol is well covered, but not for me.

Thanks to crajun for the trade! The body is a clear very dark brown that hides beneath a frothy, chunky tan head. The aroma is malty, nutty toasted malts, maybe a touch of chocolate or coffee from the roast malts. No hop aromas. The flavor is nutty and sweet, again no hop bitterness that stands apart from the balance. I’d like a bit more body, but this is still a nice drinkable beer.

Deep dark brown coloured body with a rich three centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, prunes, raisins and pit fruits with a lot of earth. Medium-bodied; Assertive alcohol and bourbon flavours up front with a definite earthy and rich malty flavour coupled with loads of caramel, toffee and pit fruit sweetness right behind. Aftertaste shows a lot of complexity with some honey notes, bits of smoke and toastiness and a lot of pit fruits coupled with earth. Overall, a nice very rich beer with a good profile and an even better depth. I sampled this pint on draught here at the Hilton Austin Airport for US$7.00 on 06-May-2014.
