Description
We’ve produced quality beers over the years by challenging and refining our craft, not by appeasing trends. Discerning taste, rolled up sleeves, and upholding our uniquely progressive ideals ensures our drinkers will appreciate Upland beers as much as we do. Many of our brews are unique twists on traditional recipes, while others are creations of our own imaginations. At our brewpubs and tasting rooms in Bloomington, Columbus, Carmel and Indianapolis, flavor, discourse, debate, laughter, and conversation flow as freely as our beer.

Upland Brewing Company was founded in 1997 by Marc Sattinger, Russ Levitt and Dean LaPlante. In 1998, distribution of bottles and kegs began and the brewpub opened its doors. In 2006, ownership changed hands to a group of local investors remains 100% family owned. In 2012, a new brewing facility and bar was opened on the west side of Bloomington which became the primary brewing facility for Upland,

Pours clear gold with a small white head. Smells of lemon, ginger, and grainy malt. The flavor is lemon and ginger with very mild grainy malt and a little hops. It’s very light. Too light. It’s not bad, but I’ve still never found one of these lower cal beers that’s all that good.

I’m not sure why Upland only puts their name in the fine print on this one

Aroma is slightly piney, slightly floral, slightly bready. Taste has a moderate to high pithy bitterness backed by some serious old school caramel malt sweetness. Carbonation is on the softer side.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is roasted malt with chocolate, coffee, ash, liquorice, mocha, touch of cold coffee, charcoal. Flavour is medium sweet with a roasty bitterness. Body is above medium. Not the biggest or most complex Imperial Stout, but plenty of roasty chocolate & cofee flavours and a solid bittersweet taste.
