Description
The Budelse Brouwerij (Budels Brewery) is a family business that still values the traditions that have guided the brewery for centuries now. It's been at the very heart of the village of Budel in Brabant since 1870. Founded 150 years ago by Gerardus Arts as Brouwerij de Hoop (the Hope Brewery). Today, the fourth generation of the Arts family is at the helm and we are just as committed to the brewing as our ancestors.

30cl Bottle from Dirck III. Clear golden amber colour, dense white head. Aroma of honey and fruits, almost like Hopslam, very nice. Flavour is soft and smooth, mostly honey, light fruity, light grainy bitterness in the finish, but mostly soft honey. Smooth oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Budels have outdone themselves on this one, this beer is far better than I expected.

Bottle: Ruby-amber coloured, small - quite stable - foamy layer; sweetish dark-malty nose with a tinge of molasses; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, light to medium bodied; lingering sweetish-bitter finish with a touch of bitter chocolate in the aftertaste, some warming alcohol detectable. A bit simple, but enjoyable...........

Bottle, 5%. Weak sewer aroma. Clear golden colour. The flavour has a little butter, turns to a grassy note with a little vegetable.

Buddel:Pale yellow coloured, small firm white head; a trace of almonds(!) - presumably prussic acid - in the grainy-dusty aroma, faint grassy-bitter background; light sweet-bitter flavour, light bodied as well; short light grainy-grassy finish. Drab, thinnish brew.......

Bottled (from Cracked Kettle). Golden colour with mediumsized white foamy head, some lace. Aroma is caramel, paper, some sweet grains and malts. Flavour is sweet maltmash along with mild papery notes. Not that disturbing, it’s like drinking mash.
