Description
The Columbus Brewing Company was originally founded in 1830. In 1988, the name was once again chosen to resurrect the proud brewing heritage of its namesake.

Our Brewmaster brings years of experience to the brewery including an apprenticeship with a German-trained Brewmaster, completed the Master Brewers progam at U.C. Davis, and brewing at several breweries throughout North America.

We are dedicated to exploring the flavors of American hops, subtleties of German-style lagers, the intensity of barrel-aged beers & everything in between.

Fairly hazy copper and bronze coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall off-white head that stays afloat nicely and shows a zillion bubbles rising from the bottom - very nice. Aroma of bright grassy and very herbal hops with some rounded malts and a dash of citrus fruits along with a good deal of sweetness and a dry perfumey finish. Aftertaste shows a lot of bitterness from the alpha acids of the hops with a good balance from rich malts with a nice grapefruity and citrusey hop characteristic with some smooth sweetness at the very end - very well-rounded and showing a lot of flavours throughout that make this nice and pungent but still fairly easy-drinking! Overall, a very nice Imperial-ish IPA that has a great grassy and citrusey characteristic with tons of old school bitterness, but enough sweetness and dryness to make this complex and balanced - a good beer to try and sample! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Rozi's Wine & Liqours in Cleveland, Ohio on 31-July-2021 for US$2,09 sampled in my hotel room here in Wasau, Wisconsin on 06-August-2021.

Pours hazy orange and has a citrus hop aroma. There’s good hoppy bitterness with citrus and pine. I didn’t find it outstanding, but it’s a solid ipa.

Hazy orange with a large foamy head that lingered and left great lacing. Leafy, piney, floral hops. Long finish. Moderately full bodied. Pleasant

Pours from crowler a clear dark copper-orange color with a thick frothy bone white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Sticky strings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of floral hops, tropical fruit and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of floral hop, tropical and citrus fruit, and roast malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hop aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
