Wood Fermented Pale Ae from Catskill Brewery

Tap at just had to drop in. Bright greenish gold. Nose is lactic and pine. Was debating adding as either sour or pale ale. So it’s their Floodwatch IPA fermented in wood barre for awhile. Just the right amount of sourness to go with the hops. Lemon and lime and mango and pine. Normally don’t love sour ipas but I’m digging this one. Dry finish fruity after tones.

Draught @ Malt and Mold. Clear pale yellow with small foamy white head, bread aroma, high carbonation, sour malty taste, acidic body, long acidic finish with a bit of throat burn. Interesting brew, bit too sour.

From nitro. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma is roasted malty and chocolate malty. Fruity. Dark malty. Bitter. Dark roasted. Chocolate and dry cherry like fruity. Dry and roasted dark malty far finish.

Draught @ Ginger Man. Clear dark brown with reddish tint against the light, very small frothy brige head, faint caramelized malt arom, low carbonation, sweetish caramel taste with alcohol undertones, thin body, medium caramel finish. The alcohol bite is astonishinrg considering that it’s not really high alcohol.

[2/7/17] Draught at Fools Gold in New York City. Deep golden. Malt, piney, fruity and lemony hops, rather dry, bitter finish.

From tap. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is mild fruity, slight citrusy. Milky sour. Crisp fruity. Lingering citric. Smooth fruity and crisp sour far finish.

Nitro version @ Alewife. Brown with reddish tint with creamy beige head, mocha aroma, low carbonation, bitter mocha taste, thick body, long mocha latte finish. Very smooth, thick, and tasty, almost ready to be spread on a slice of bread!

Jewelweed Golden Sour from Catskill Brewery

Draught @ Alewife. Slightly cloudy golden with very small frothy whitish head, acidic aroma, malty tart taste, thin body, abrupt finish. Quite well balanced and mellow.
