Description
Bad Shepherd Beer Company is the brewery for Black Sheep Burrito & Brews restaurant and is located at their Charleston location. There are Black Sheep locations in Charleston and Huntington West Virginia. Eleven house-brewed beers on tap means that aside from flagship beer The Loud, and popular How Ewe Doin? Cream Ale, there are new brews constantly rotating through the other taps. A barrel program turns out a variety of sour ales and the occasional whiskey-barrel aged stout.

Clear golden with small white head. Aroma is malt, medium body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is malt and some alcohol. Sort of in between a saison and a tripel.

On tap at P&P Charleston. Hazy light orange with small off-white head. Aroma is rich tangerine, medium body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is tangerine, herbal hops, and slightly bitter finish.

Can from Weihenweizen: pours not quite clear orange with a white head. Aroma is grapefruity and a good bit of pine. Taste is somewhat bitter, citrusy. Pretty smooth. Dry finish. Always interesting to have a traditional IPA.
