Description
Wicklow Wolf was established in late 2014 after the meeting of two likeminded friends with a common interest in good beer. Quincey Fennelly and Simon Lynch both fell in love with craft beer while living in California for many years. Setting up a brewery together was always inevitable.

Amber with a frothy, white head that lingers. Aroma of peaches, citrus and caramel. Taste is bitter with a hint of cardboard underneath. Finishes verges on astringent, but is offset somewhat by a texture trending increasingly watery. Okay.

Black with a medium tan head. Aroma of chocolate spice. Flavour is chilli milk chocolate, vanilla cream, warm malt finish.

Can at home, golden beer, small head. Aroma is hops, citrus, malt. Taste is the same, bitter, lemon, not bad.

Jet black with a short bubbly head. Aroma of peanut. Flavour is smooth dark fruit malt, velvet texture, boozy peanut butter. Bitter roast nut, velvet chocolate finish.

Jet black with a large tan head. Aroma of vanilla roast malt. Flavour is coffee bean, sweet vanilla roast coffee, milky sweet finish.

Amber with a frothy white head. Aroma full of pine and somewhat floral. Taste is full of resin bitterness the whole way through. Medium bodied, moderate to mild carbonation. Okay.

2020 harvest but same style and abv. Black with a medium head. Aroma of chocolate malt. Flavour is light milky roast malt, chocolate on a dry roast finish.

Bottle: Nearly completely black, just a ruby sheen visible, small foamy layer, moderate to solid sweet-bitter roasty and fruity nose with shy spots of chocolate and licorice, a pinch of vanilla also possible; almost solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium-bodied; lingering drier roasty and fruity with a heavily increasing bitterness in the aftertaste. Yes! An unexpected gem...
