Description
Wicklow Wolf was established in late 2014 after the meeting of two likeminded friends with a common interest in good beer. Quincey Fennelly and Simon Lynch both fell in love with craft beer while living in California for many years. Setting up a brewery together was always inevitable.

33cl can purchased at the Centra in Kenmare, County Kerry, Ireland. BB 04032020. The pour is a slight haze golden orange with a small white head. The aroma is cereal grain with a bit of straw and floral. The taste is the grass, straw, hint of lemon citrus and the cereal grain malt carrying the finish. The palate is medium bodied with softer carbonation and the clean malt finish. Solid.

Draught, 4.8% at the Black Sheep. Good fruity aroma. Almost clear dark golden colour. Stable white head. The flavour is papery at first, fruity. Turns earthy. Tastes a bit of old books.

From bottle to glass at the Saddle Room in Dublin. Garnet and clear with moderate off-white head. Lots of crystal malt with the hops not showing. Maybe the bottle was old, but just not that great.

On draft in Dublin. Beautiful clear gold with white head. Aroma was standard and moderate hops. Breaks down on the flavor. Hard to drink, but started nicely!

Roast amd some caramel. Strange situation where it has explosive head but not much carbonation in mouth feel. Bittersweet end. Bottle.

From the can. Dark orange with a frothy head that lingers. Aroma is mostly floral with undertones of peaches and caramel. Taste is quite bitter, verges on acrid at the finish. The sort of hops-packed concoction that usually gives me a headache. Medium body, mild carbonation, imperfectly hidden alcohol. Needs work.
