Description
BridgePort produces a variety of international style ales, including IPA. BridgePort’s ales are naturally conditioned in the bottle, keg, or cask from which they are served - they’re never force carbonated. The natural conditioning creates ale that is smooth, naturally carbonated, and full of flavor.

Today, BridgePort Brewing Company is one of the top specialty brewers in the state of Oregon. As BridgePort Brewing grew in popularity, it also grew in its brewing capacity from its 600-barrel beginnings to over 100,000 barrels per year. Distribution has grown from Portland to 18 states, and the brewery’s emphasis on producing quality, innovative ales has provided it with an international following and numerous awards.

Draft half pint at Bridgeport. A less than clear, pinkish copper pour. Really interesting style here, but one I'm not shocked to find around here. Mellow aroma, more citrus really than anything else. Grapefruit touch. Soft flavor, red berry like, paired with a citrus and fruity hop. Not quite what I expected here, but this was refreshing, and quite tasty.

Draft 8 oz pour at Bridgeport. First visit to the brewpub. A shiny, bright golden pour. This is a unique, and enjoyable cream ale for me, as it has a lot of flavor going on with it. A bit of a thicker body. Smooth cream, and a mellow fruity hop profile. Smooth and refreshing finish. An absolute standout in the style for me. Tasty.

Bomber from Albertsons. Pours out a pinkish orange, initial high foamy head, fades to tightly beaded cap. Fine carbonation. Aroma is sweet, fruity, floral. Taste is more citrus, tangerine, flowery notes. Mildly dry finish.

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours somewhat hazy orange tinged gold with a white head. Aroma seems caramel. Flavor is mixed hops - over a detectable caramel support. It's pretty dry. Pretty bitter. Hops are earthy/citrus/spicy. Which does not explain the caramel aroma. It's rather unusual overall, but it drinks ok.

Old bottle from Toby. Gusher. Pours black and flat. Aroma is grapes, really holding on to the wine barrel notes. Taste too brings some sweetness, grape jelly and chocolate. Held up well.

Bottle from Albertsons. About what I expected. Dark amber, small tan foamy head, fades to small cap. Aroma is light caramel malts. Taste picks this up a bit, malt sweetness coming through, with some bittering hops at the back. Just shy of dank. Strong, but gets kind of medicinal too.

Bottle. Great looking gold body with white head. Much lacing. Floral hop aroma. Creamy body with an edge. Tastes more like a helles than a pilsner, but it's a good helles. Crisp finish

On Tap Clear deep copper with a thin wispy off white head. Mellow light toasted maltiness in the aromas and flavors. Fair bitterness...would not have guessed 100IBU, Smooth body and a little boozy at the end.

Bottle Brewers Haven. Dark amber, foamy head subsides. From I'd malty, fruity, the hoppy, with enough ABV to feel it in the smell. Taste is equal parts malts and sweet fruit notes, hops come in and wash the tongue with some tingly bitterness. Late heat rises up the gullet. Probably the maltiest TIPA I've had.
