Pours brown from the bottle. The head is creamy and off white. Aroma is roasted grains, caramel, hazelnut. Taste is mildly bitter with strong roasted notes. Body is medium, carbonation is mild. Overall okay but not particularly interesting.

Fläschla vom Otto-Versand: Deep golden, unclear, small but stable firm white head; dry and tart citrussy to grassy hoppy nose, shy grainy background; moderate dry bitter flavour, a bit tart and quite light bodied for a beer of 6.5%; dry - surprise - and lingering bitter- lemony finish. Good, but lacks the balancing malty backbone...

Euro-Fläääsch(fortunately, copyright by Otto-Versand): Pale golden,a bit unclear, average creamy off-white head with a little lace; sweetish grainy-dusty nose; sweetish flavour, almost a bit sticky, nearly medium bodied; sweetish - no surprise - grainy finish, any balancing bitterness is hardly detectable. A very monotonous brew, maybe the right antidote to a real hessian Ebbelwoi...

Fläschle: Deep golden, almost clear, big creamy, stable and lacy off-white head; moderate dryish nose of - indeed - tropical fruits with a wheaty-bready background; mild to moderate bitter flavour; quite soft, quite light bodied; lingering exotic-fruity finish with some mild bitter and even less detectable tart-sourish traces.Pretty good, but by Hessen standards superb...

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, deep golden colour with a big and minimally off-white foamy head. Wheaty and slightly toasted malty aroma with hints of caramel, tea, phenolic spices, as well as fruity notes of banana, honey melon and citrus. Mildly sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Obvious wheat character with shades of banana, phenolic spices and dry-hopped feel including citrus, melon and mildly piney notes, lingering into the mildly bitter hoppy and delicately sweet finish. Okay, but dispensable. 05.IX.17

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, golden colour with blond and medium-sized foamy head. Slightly bready malty aroma with notes of crackers, backed by fruity and mildly flowery hops, including hints of citrus, bergamot and gooseberry. Sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Moderately dry and slightly bready malty base with present fruity and slightly floral hops, getting slightly stronger towards the balanced finish. Well-done. 23.VIII.17

(bottle) Clear, golden to copper colour with a medium-sized and minimally off-white foamy head. Mildly bready malty aroma with traces of caramel and shades of spicy hops far in the background. Sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a tame carbonation. Slightly bready malt character with caramel, grainy accents and a worty touch; moderately sweet malty and caramelly finish with restrained hoppy notes. Not very exciting. 23.VIII.17
