An orange beer with a fine dense head. The aroma is wheaty - very simple, and the flavor is also wheaty and quite boring. All in all this beer is boring - if I want a Hefeweizen I won't choose this one.

Pours a moderately cloudy light orange-yellow with some golden hues. Big foamy white head. Aroma of bubble gum esters, some yeasty spice and coriander. Begins very soft and round with some light wheat flavors followed by a big bubble gum flavor that is not overly sweet or overpowering. Good amounts of lemon and some slight spiciness on the finish. Great body throughout, medium and very little wateriness even as it finishes. Sweeter and less spicy than Hacker-pschorr. Moderate carbonation.

Light brown. The yeast was stuck to the bottom of the bottle. The head was large and thick. Flavors of malt and wheat. The wheat taste is light. Lots of sweet malt. Medium bodied.

Dark brown in colour with a nice dense tan head. Aroma of malt, a slight fruityness and strong alocohol. Full to Medium-bodied; Strong alcoholic flavour initially with hints of dark pit fruit fading to just a malt background. Aftertaste turns watery quick and then fades off the palate with only a subtle amount of spice to back things up. Overall, this is about what I'd expect a doppelbock to be, true to the style, with no frills. Fairly good, worth trying as long as you've had Ayinger before :-). I bought this pint bottle from Beers of the World in Rochester, New York.

Pale golden colour. Rich head. Faint hoppiness in the nose, maybe some malt as well. Medium bodied. Unclean bitterness against a discreet but firm malt background.

Bottled. Pale golden with firm, creamy head. Papery malt aroma. Sweet with clean maltiness. Bold, rounded mouthfeel, slightly burnt. Less malty and distinct than I expect a Franconian festbier to be.

Reddish-brown; aroma of brown sugar, peach, slight toast. Long earthy maltiness pervades, with brown sugar and a vague fruitiness. Workaday doppelbock.

Clear golden - ugh. Banana, hint of spice on the nose. Light, slightly watery body. Background phenols, but this is a typically bland kristalweizen. No yeast - why bother?
