Description
In 1872 Friedrich Eder, the founder of the brewery, acquired the brewery and restaurant "Zum Ochsen", which has been known since 1779. This was the nucleus of today's brewery in Grossostheim. In the following decades the company grew steadily.

Since 1999 the Schlappeseppel beers are brewed here.

Bottle 500ml. @ PBF 2011Clear light to medium yellow colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, hay, toasted, light vegetables, light hoppy. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration, grainy, straw, light acrid bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light metalic. [20110703]

Bottle that I picked up in El Corte Ingles, Bilbao, Basque Country, Northern Spain 08.07.11 consumed at home 17.07.11 Pours very dark brown, some light treacle and a dab of balsamic vinegar on nose. Touch of roasted malts but also a bit thin, some caramel. It’s ok. A7 A3 T6 P3 Ov13 3.2

Aroma is moderate malty, grain, toasted, hay, light cardboard and vegetables. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, green grass. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110703]

Hazy yellow color, small white head. Banana estery aroma, light lemony note. Light to medium bodied. Some banana and lemon, grainy maltyness, a bit papery but citrusy finish. Standard, not so exciting hefeweizen.

Bottled (as Weizenbier Hefe-Hell, same GTIN as this). Yellow hazy colour with a big foamy white head. Aroma is wheat, some fruits and mild yeastyness. Flavour is toffee, wheat, fruits and mild yeastyness. Quite a pleasant hefeweiss.

Bottled. Hazy brown colour with a mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is wheat, mild toast, yeast as well as some slight toffeeish notes. Flavour is wheat, yeast, quite spicy along with some fruityness as well as some toasted notes.

Golden color, small white head. Honeyish malty aroma with hints of grassy hops. Light bodied. Grassy hoppyness, honeyish maltyness. Quite standard German pils, could use a bit more hops.

Bottled. Pale golden colour, small white head. Aroma is sweet malts, some floral and mild fruity notes as well. Also mild grass and some breadyness. Flavour is bready and quite sweet malty notes. Also some hay, grass and floral notes with some slight honey as well..

Golden color, small white head. Hayish, grassy aroma with some light buttery malttyness and metal. Light to medium-bodied. Malty, a bit harsh with lingering hayish bitterness. Qute pils-like. Solid German brew.
