Description
In 1872 Friedrich Eder, the founder of the brewery, acquired the brewery and restaurant "Zum Ochsen", which has been known since 1779. This was the nucleus of today's brewery in Grossostheim. In the following decades the company grew steadily.

Since 1999 the Schlappeseppel beers are brewed here.

50 cL bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma is light malty, vague cornish note and crisp hoppy. Subdued sweet malty and crisp bitter hoppy, vague citrusy note. Ends dry and bitter.

Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, keller light bread. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20091021]

Bottle. Sweet barley malt aroma with a hint of cherry. Golden yellow color with small head. Slightly sweet barley malt flavor with mild astringency. Very mild Bock - nice.

Bottle, 2.7%. Lemonade aroma, seems more rounded than the ones mixed with lager. Hazy pale yellow colour. Nice stable creamy white head. Extremely sweet flavour. Sugary. Good wheat mouthfeel.

Clear dark amber with a medium off white head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and hints of chocolate. Flavour was sweet with roasted malt, caramel and chocolate notes. Finished sweet.

Bottle, 5.2%. Papery and roasted aroma. Clear brown colour. Small stable off-white head. The flavour is mildly sweet and nicely roasted. Quite subtle, but that is a quality in this beer.
