Dark purple and cloudy with a thin head. Fruity aroma of strawberries, red currants and blackberries. Sweet and sour, sticky taste of blackberries, apricots, strawberries and lemons. A good fruit drink that doesn't taste much like beer.

Can from Tavour. Pours gold with a large foamy white head. Aroma is bready with grass/spice and a wood note. Med body. Dry and decently bitter. Flavor is essentially the aroma. Crisp and clean for me.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear gold with a large foamy white head that laced a bit. Aroma is grass/spicy/herb/citrus. Med body. Crackery malt. Noble hops and some herb/citrus. Definite spice bite. Dry and nicely bitter. Wood shows up after awhile. Very nice.

Backlog. Hazy yellowish golden colour wtih a mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is floral, nectary, some tropical fruits with some oats and mild sweet biscuity tones to it. Flavour is tropical fruits, peach, some mild resin with sweet malts and oats to it. Hides the alcohol very well.
Massive raspberry up front and blueberry in the back . Sweet and then tart

So I had my favorites early in my tasting experiences, Belgian dark ales and imperial stouts. Barleywines are a relatively new style in the upper echelon. This stormy, wet evening in West Texas I and the prodigal new dog have a pint can from Evil Twin before us. Canned on 2/27/25 the stamp on the bottom says and Drink Fresh the label implores. My best globe glass, well, my only globe glass, is ready to receive. I see a clear, dark caramel body topped by a heavy head of khaki tan foam. The scent is somewhat subdued with a bit of ripe fruit and likewise with grain. I have a drink. My first reaction is that the beer is rather thin. The taste, fortunately more than compensates. Vanilla initially, plums, bread, a touch of toffee, cane syrup and malt. The tall abv is concealed, maybe it presents later in the tasting. Not the homer or even a triple I had anticipated but still a credible barleywine. I know it’s late May, just could not make it to June.

Aromas are a nice mix of tropical fruit, citrus, and MJ. Flavors are similar to nose. Dry and medium bitter with a bit of sweet and back. MJ and citrus come out more. Full body and good carbonation. A touch sweet in the finish. Really good.
