Light brown, head disappeared rather quickly. Light malty and sugary nose. Malt and a licorice aftertaste on the tastebuds. Rather thinbodied. Maybe its just the season, but I expected a bit more powerfull beer.

Deep amber-brown; with a large aroma showing demerara sugar, burnt cherries, and a touch of peaty Highland malt. The palate brings a cornucopia of flavours - the demerara more pronounced, a toasty maltiness that reminds of a thick-crusted whole wheat bread fresh out of the oven, a touch of iron and a subtle mix of blackberries and cherries.

I'd call it one of the better of the second-tier altbiers. In other words, if you really like altbier you'll enjoy this but otherwise it's a pass.
