12 ounce bottle. Pours a murky dark brown color with a medium white head. A sweet vegetal nose, nothing obviously too hot. A fruity flavor with additions of big heat and pepper, some caramel. The base isn’t big enough to hold the pepper, but it isn’t nearly as hot as other pepper beers, and pretty easy in some ways. OK. Like a brown porter base.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with small frothy white head. The aroma is sour fruit and vinegar. Thin mouthfeel with sweet fruit malt and light sourness. A very good fruit lambic from Rivertown.

Bottle @ Stephen’s house courtesy of Veldrid. Thanks! Pours a bit hazy, maroon appearance with an off white head. Slightly spicy, blackberry, slightly funky, fairly mildly, lightly sour aroma. Somewhat juicy, tart blackberry juicy, very light cheesy, spicy flavor. Eh, ok.

Bottle @ Stephen’s house courtesy of Veldrid. Thanks! Hazy, a bit cloudy golden with a small bubbly white head. Prickly carbonated, light banana, spicy, mild lemon, lightly funky aroma. Green apple, cidery, mildly tart lactic, somewhat herbal, fairly refreshing flavor. Not nearly as complex as the last Rivertown Lambic I had.

Smells of a freshly opened latex paint can, butterscotch. Clear dark brown, thin yellow head. Smoke flavor with a peppery bite. Medium body, alcohol not evident. One wonders whether the peppers were added to hide a diacetyl infection. I don’t mind a little diacetyl in a porter or stout.
