Aroma is fairly well balanced with acetic acid and lactic acid. There is a background oak character as well as some tropical and cherry fruit. It's not as acidic as I would like and is missing a lot of that classic barnyard funk though there is some present. Pours a slightly cloudy yellow gold with a very slight, thin white head that quickly disappears. No legs or lacing. Flavor is similar to the aroma. A bit too sweet and fruity - I pick up a bit of cider. The oak character in the flavor is well integrated but the acidity and funk are too slight. It could really use more funkiness and could be abut drier. It is also missing a bit of the phenolic character. Has some nice citrus notes in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with low carbonation. Astringency is difficult to judge separate from the acidity but the beer is clean. Medium low alcohol heat. Overall, a good unobjectionable sour beer but it misses when measured up against more traditional geuzes. I like the beer, it's like a less acidic Mother Funker. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 ounce bottle. Pours a dark reddish brown color with a medium white head. A sweet nose of toffee and caramel. Very light flavors of caramel, earthy, banana, some coffee perhaps? Pretty sweet. Thin. OK.

Bottle. Pours cranberry red. Off white head ring. Nose and taste of lightly tart blackberries, wild yeast, leather and vinous notes. Mild funk. Medium body. Moderate acidity. Slight sour milk finish. Good balance.

Bottle from b3shine: Aroma is raisins, babyfood, and a bit of barnyard. Cloudy brown, thin tan head. Vegetal and astringent, wood and soot discernible, black currants. Not wonderful.

750ml bottle. Poured a slightly hazy yellow color, with a wispy white head. Aroma had some touch of sour notes, sweet fruit notes. Flavor was a touch tart, with some sour notes. Not bad, pretty enjoyable.

Bottle. Strong diacetyl aroma... smells like buttered popcorn. Clear chestnut with a small off-white head. Just as in the nose, huge diacetyl flavor. Got some issues here.

Bottle. Hazy deep golden color. Beautiful aroma of dusty summer fruit. Taste is softly funky lemon, apricot, peach. Very nice.

12oz bottle. This is a really enjoyable Smoked beer. Filtered amber body, creamy off-white head. Rather mellow and medium bodied, sort of leaning towards a UK feel. The cherry smoke flavors are very balanced and judicious, not overwhelming. Really nails the Rauchbier in it’s medium body, drinkability. This really gives the Irish Red style some life, and remains balanced. Good stuff.

Sample at World Of Beer. Dark brown pour with a thin light beige head that dissipates steadily. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, coffee and hops. Medium body with flavors of malt, hot peppers and coffee. The finish is earthy with a peppery aftertaste. Overall doesn’t work very well for me.
