Description
We are a family-owned, independent craft brewery with taproom and full-service BBQ eatery located in Monroe, Ohio. At Rivertown, we believe in brewing traditional and innovative craft beer and slow-smoking BBQ in a way that encourages connection, and conversation.

We aren't defined by one style of beer, because at our brewery, we brew a touch of everything from traditional, technically-sound, delicate lagers to spontaneously fermented and intentionally blended barrel-aged sours and every style in between. When it comes to our BBQ, we draw inspiration from many different styles, including St. Louis, Texas, the Carolinas, but most importantly, our juicy, slow-smoked BBQ is inspired by our Team's creativity and you.

Rivers have always been the heart of community, innovation and activity; come enjoy our interpretation of a Rivertown, where tradition, innovation and flavor is blended with community, caring and tenacity to create a noteworthy and memorable experience.

12 oz. bottle, bonus'd to me by tstockstrom (thanks a lot, Chuck). Pours a hazy orange amber with a medium beige head. Aroma of dark, slightly caramelized brown sugar, pumpkin spices (nutmeg and cinnamon), and a bit of pumpkin puree. Flavour is fairly light and restrained, dominated by the aforementioned spices, some dark brown sugars and a bit of pumpkin puree. Light, slightly sweet and spicy. Solid pumpkin ale.

This beer pours a brownish-amber color with a medium light beige head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of nutmeg and pumpkin. Light-bodied with flavors of grainy malt, spice and faint pumpkin. The finish is sweet with a malt and cinnamon aftertaste. Not very pumpkiny but a decent beer.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of some generous trader. Pours a cloudy, dark yellow orange appearance with a fluffy, off-white head. Bready, herbal spicy, dull orange peel, a touch zesty nose. A bit dull, wheat malty, slightly chewy, somewhat spicy/zesty, mild coriander flavor. Alright but nothing special.

Bottle @ Darkness Day 2012 shared with buds and some random hippies. Pours a cloudy yellow appearance with a white head. Fairly funky, tart lemon, a bit dusty, barnyard aroma. Actually, pretty complex, dusty, a bit acetic, white wine, lemon, vanilla, moderately sour flavor. Pretty tasty stuff.

Deep brown with a small head. Aroma is tart cherries, lightly sweet malts, and not much else. The sourness really powers thru most of other traits. Medium bodied. Flavor is sour cherry, lightly roasted malts, a bit of chocolate and light funk. Finishes tart. Solid beer.

Bottle from Bittermestupid. Thanks Greg! Pours copper with a foamy off-white head. Aroma of fruity/floral hop over light caramel. Near med body. Flavor is lots of floral/fruit hop over rye spice. Finishes hoppy and spicy. Very nice.

12 oz. bottle. Pours dark orange with a small, beige head and bubbles lining the glass. The aroma is hickory, peat, honeysuckle, and bitter chocolate. The flavor is bitter from front to finish. The palate is medium to heavy, sticky, grainy, and very astringent. Overall, this is a hop forward and heavy IPA. Not bad.
