Description
We are a family-owned, independent craft brewery with taproom and full-service BBQ eatery located in Monroe, Ohio. At Rivertown, we believe in brewing traditional and innovative craft beer and slow-smoking BBQ in a way that encourages connection, and conversation.

We aren't defined by one style of beer, because at our brewery, we brew a touch of everything from traditional, technically-sound, delicate lagers to spontaneously fermented and intentionally blended barrel-aged sours and every style in between. When it comes to our BBQ, we draw inspiration from many different styles, including St. Louis, Texas, the Carolinas, but most importantly, our juicy, slow-smoked BBQ is inspired by our Team's creativity and you.

Rivers have always been the heart of community, innovation and activity; come enjoy our interpretation of a Rivertown, where tradition, innovation and flavor is blended with community, caring and tenacity to create a noteworthy and memorable experience.

Draft. Nutmeg, light cinnamon and pumpkin malt aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Sweet nutmeg, cinnamon, and pumpkin malt flavor with a strong ginger finish. Very smooth. A hit even with my wife who has hated almost every beer (except for the ultra-sweet lambics) she has ever tried.

Out of the 12oz bottle. Acquired in a trade and enjoyed at fridge temp in a snifter. Half a finger off-white head that fades fast. Deep amber color. Nice and hazy. Scent is full of tons of nutmeg and cinnamon. Hint of sweet molasses. Taste is loaded with pumpkins but it’s sort of muted / cheap tasting. It’s not all that powerful of a taste profile..sort of cutting corners pumpkin taste. Almost no spices and an overly sweet finish with this rotten apple fast. Medium body.

Bottle shared by Kyle, thanks! Pours a deep clear purple with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of blackberry that is slightly tart with a bit of earthiness and funk. Flavor has a good amount of tart blackberry that last throughout that is slightly thin.

Courtesy of Matt. It pours sort of opaque grapefruit juice (I’m taking this as a very good sign) with thin off white head. The aroma offers up spicy yeast mixing with sour sort of citrus notes and a rich vinegar. Cool. The aromatics really draw me in for a swig. The taste has a nice pucker of acidity and then it moves toward some vinegar. It dries out into the finish. Nice stuff.

Really good.

Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective barrel-aged beer tasting on 08/11/2012. Hazy dark brownish pour with a medium beige head that dissipates slowly to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of cherries, oak and malt. Medium to full body with a moderately tart cherry character and notes of malt, oak and vanilla. The finish is fruity with a funky cherry aftertaste. Above average overall.
