On tap at Hollingshead Deli. Pours with a large tan head over a deep brown body. Good retention. Aroma of brown sugar, raisins, oak, and dark fruit. Taste is oak, bourbon, wood, and a very strong brown sugar note. Molasses, raisins, and burnt flan. Creamy carbonation and pretty tasty.

Bottled@Monks Café Sveavägen, Stockholm. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is some banana, fruits, mild spices as well as some slight sourness. Flavour is sour bananajuice with some slight rpicyness. Strange brew, but rather original as well.

Tap at Barcade. A fairly average stout. Attractive, dark brown pour with a thick beige head. Aroma of lightly roasted malts. Flavor was pleasant. Mld coffee notes, along with some bitter malt character. Clean and dry on the finish. Medium in body and creamy, this beer is a smooth one. Pretty nice.

Smell is a little meaty dark. V ery nice black pour tho not opaque. Burned woode flavors from the beginning, turns interestingly bitter but never over the top. Yes, a real dark beer experience without that nasty bitter high alky experience. Makes me wish I lived closer to wisconsin, eh? Lively average carbonation. Zoomee zoomee zeemee. A very inexpensive beer that is high in the percentile. Does not show its alky content willingly. Overall a decent example that a cheap beer can provide many of the characteristics that a good beer should.

Bottled at Monk’s Café Sveavägen, Stockholm. Muddy amber, no head. Dusty glue aroma. Sweet, yet tart, fruity with lemon, perfume and banana juice. Medium bodied with clean mouthfeel, low bitterness. Well... different...

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, over ripe fruits as well as lighter notes of bourbon. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, bourbon, late summer fruits that are very sweet, and malt, leading to a dry fruity finish. The alcohol is a bit too pronounced for my taste. Thanks KimJohansen for sharing.

31st October 2008. Dark brown clear beer. Bourbon and a little vanilla wood. Fairly lightweight the flavour evokes a stout but has this beer has a lager like consistency. Semi dry woody finish. Good but lacks something to make it really shine.

16 oz pint bottle, twist off sent to me by my 2009 winter Secret Santa. Served in my Stone Imperial Russian Stout tulip. Pour is a hazed black, with a tightly formed one inch khaki head. Minimal oily lacing as the beer drinks down. Aroma is roasty milk chocolate, with a presence of cane sugar. Has a chocolate milkshake smell to it. Soft and natural smelling. Taste is the sweet cane sugar, milk and dark chocolate, roast, bit of char, some soy. Quite a bit going on in the taste, and it’s not necessarily really well integrated. Nice, but a bit too far too the sweet for my tastes. Palate is medium bodied, oily texture, with a charred roast after taste. There is only a whisper of alcohol in the very back. Nice one, thanks for sending this my way Santa.
