Purchased in a variety pack at Beverage Castle in Tampa. Dark black pour with deep light brown head. The aroma is burnt malts followed quickly by fruity sweet Concord jelly, dates, fudge brownies and coffee. The taste begins like the aroma with mild roasted to burnt malts that quickly turn sweeter with the aid of dark fruitiness and hints of molasses. Toward the finish the burnt malts are joined by coffee, sweet caramel candy and dark chocolate. Very nice.

Poured pitch black with half an inch mocha head. This aroma is light and uninspired with mild sweetness and burnt to roasty malts followed by burnt malts. The taste is more interesting with malty sweetness quickly followed up by burnt malts. Then I get a light astringency and mild caramel candy sweetness that rides into the finish with hints of coffee. The taste is very nice.

Pour is a dark brown with a average tan head. Aroma is a decent amount of dark malts and and under the radar hops. Flavor is all things malt. Very heavy and some caramel show up. An ok marzen. Like most from Sprecher they are always average but cheap.

Bottle Chris_o Shindig. Dark lager, pretty good. Good hop. Nice enough and my penultimate beer of the day.

This beer came in my beer club - I am not familiar with the brewer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bark black color with a large dark brown head. The aroma was roasty and bitter with a floral hop presence and a hint of coffee. The flavor was roasty, bitter and had a light coffee element. The finish was long and bitter.

This beer came in my beer club - I am not familiar with the brewer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel-amber color with a medium sized foamy yellow-white head. The aroma was tangy, nutty and vaguely off - but not quite skunky. The flavor was lightly bitter, yeasty and tangy with a dryish finish.

bottle - Pours dark amber with a 2 finger, fading head. The aroma is very malty and has a hint of dark fruit in it. The flavor is sweet, as expected, with some caramel and a touch of fruit as well as mild alcohol. It’s medium bodied and very easy to drink.

It is a pink beer, like a grapefruit cocktail, or HOTD Rose Cassis. Light, artificial fruit flavor with strawberry and sweet bubblegum. I would serve this over ice, and it isn’t so bad.

A solid Scotch ale ruined by bourbon. At least the bourbon is light and not the dominant characteristic. It does however, overwhelm the malt and smoke in the aroma. Flavor is light malt, lacking fruit or vinous qualities that I like from a Scotch ale. It does have sweet malt and smoke. This was a little sour and I’m not sure if it is intended to be so or not, but it still tasted OK.
