One of my favorite schwartzes. Extremely well balanced yet complex enough to keep it interesting.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 11/16/2017. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with amazing retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, citrus peel/rind, pepper, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, citrus peel/rind, pepper, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, citrus peel/rind, pepper, pine, caramel, toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and minimal lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.25%. Overall this is a very good English IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/earthy hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink, despite the fairly aggressively bitter/drying finish. Great balance of vibrant citrus and dank/earthy hop complexity; nice dark/bready malt backbone, with minimal residual sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy yellow-gold color with an enormous foamy yellow-white head that rose over the glass, lingered forever and left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet sugar, mango, peach and sweettart candies. The flavor was chalky and tart with mango and sweettart candies. Long mango finish. Medium body. Tasty.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a murky gold color with a large foamy orange-white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was dry, musty and chalky with a grapefruit soda presence. The flavor was tart, chalky and yeasty with grapefruit soda. Medium length finish. Medium body.

Pours a clear pale yellow color with a small fizzy white head that quickly disappeared. No lacing. Only a faint apple nose. Soda-like mouthfeel. Taste follows the nose. Faint tart apple flavor with high carbonation and a dry finish. Eh. At least the 7.0 ABV is well hidden.

Great Taste of the Midwest 2017.I ma not sure what makes this cider pink in color. Apple juice in the aroma with yeast; more apple in the flavor. Not too sweet, but some sugar. I would have liked it drier with more yeast character.

Is it possible to give a score lower than 0.5?? Clear light gold pour with a white head and poor retention. No lacing. Nose and taste are both astringent mouthwash and Band-Aids. Nasty stuff. Drain pour. Gluten free sucks.

Opaque brown pour with a fizzy beige head and decent retention. Spots of lacing. Pure cola nose. Sticky sweet caramel cola taste with little cherry flavor. Flat mouthfeel. Underwhelming. Definitely not beer.

Clear cola colored pour with a fizzy beige head and surprisingly good retention. Fair lacing. Clean and creamy mouthfeel; A little flat for a soda. Tastes like a semi-flat cola. A little vanilla? Sugary sweet. Bad beer but okay for soda. Different.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 11/16/2012. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy deep reddish/copper/light brown color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big raisin, plum, fig, pear, apricot, red apple, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, bourbon, and toasted oak; with lighter notes of vanilla, coconut, toffee, peat smoke, leather, roast, herbal, pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity yeast, dark/bready malt, bourbon barrels, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Slight booze in the aromas as it warms, but not overwhelming. Taste of big raisin, plum, fig, pear, apricot, red apple, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, bourbon, and toasted oak; with lighter notes of vanilla, coconut, toffee, peat smoke, leather, roast, herbal, pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of dark fruit, pear, apricot, red apple, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, bourbon, toasted oak, coconut, light vanilla/toffee, peat smoke, herbal, pepper, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity yeast, dark/bready malt, bourbon barrels, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness balance, with zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, fairly tannic, and lightly silky/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is good. Pretty thin feeling for the ABV, but not bad. Mildly increasing warmth of 11%, with no barrel booziness. Overall this is a delicious BBA scotch ale! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity yeast, dark/bready malt, bourbon barrels, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the big ABV. Very rich and complex, with great balance between yeast, malts, barrels. Great barrel presence and integration, without being boozy. Only real complaint is with the body/mouthfeel; but this was really enjoyable, and a spot on style example otherwise.
