On draught at Barley’s Smokehouse. This brew pours a murky dark orange color with a medium off-white head that evaporates steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops character and flavors of grapefruit and malt in the background. The finish is hoppy with a lingering fruity aftertaste. Solid beer all around.

On draught at Barley’s Ale House #1. The beer is a clear dark amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast, bananas and malt. Medium body with flavors of spiced yeast, banana, citrus and caramel malt. The finish is fruity up front with a peppery yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

Served on draft at the Smokehouse location. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of leafy and citrus hops with faint malts. The taste is toffeeish malts and citrus hops. Thin-medium bodied. A little on the hoppy side for a Scottish but I liked it.

On draught at Bodega. Pours a dark orange color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruit, caramel malt and yeast. Rich, smooth body with flavors of sweet malt, caramel, dark fruit and yeast. The finish is malty with a lingering plum aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Pours opaque black with small dark brown highlights and small beige head. Little lacing, thick body, and no carbonation. Taste is mostly roasted malt (mostly espesso with a little chocolate), alchohol is pretty well covered. This is good beer.

On tap at the Oakroom during OBW and at the downtown brewpub. Pours clear caramel golden/light copper wiht off-white head. Some lacing, sticky texture, low carbonation, no lacing, and medium body. Taste is typical scottish ale caramel malt.

On tap at the Oakroom during OBW. Pours opaque lighbrown/copper with small off-white head. Good lacing, medium lacing, medium body, and medium carbonation. Taste is heavy wheat, some red ale flavor, and a hint of caramel malt. For a weizen bock this is a little harsh and pretty heavy to have in the summer, not a fan.

5 oz sampler off of the Beer Engine at the brew pub (#2) in Columbus, Ohio. Pour is mostly clear golden orange with a loosely formed off white head. Aroma is quite faint, there is some leafy hops, a touch of citrus and only a hint of toasted malt. The taste picks up with grassy citrus hops, some nice resin grittiness and finishing with the toasted malt. This is much more hop focused, though, and they are the main story. Palate is light bodied, bordering on watery, with the soft fine carbonation and unfiltered mouth feel of the Beer Engine. Nice enough.
