Description
In 1824 master brewer Johann Philipp Ledermann came to the small village Döllnitz near Halle and started brewing Gose at Döllnitz Manor. The brewery continued to brew gose till WW 2. After the war the manor brewey was dismantled and the original gose was brewed at several places up till 2015.

Since 2015 we brew our "Original Ritterguts Gose" in close collaboration with Brauerei Reichenbrand in Chemnitz. This small, classic family-brewery fulfills all the requirements necessary for the optimization of our very special brewing process -- in particular the availability of open-fermentation, which we consider a primary component in making a proper gose.

Bottle at Hopfen & Malz. Golden with a fluffy head. Aroma of spice and coriander. Flavour is sharp bitter, a little salt on a long dry acidic finish. Very refreshing.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours golden with a frothy white head that doesn’t leave much trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sour and tiny malty with wheat crackers, unflavored yoghurt, hay, white pepper corns and hints of banana bread and coriander seeds. Taste is sour, slightly salty, slightly malty and tiny estery with wheat crackers, lemon juice, unflavored yoghurt, hay, overripe banana, biscuits, lemon zest, orange zest, mineral water and hints of sour milk, sea salt and rose pepper. Mouthfeel is round, slightly dry, tart and light to medium bodied. Finish is sour, salty, tiny malty and tiny estery with wheat crackers, lemon juice, unflavored yoghurt, banana, hay and dry wood. Complex, refreshing and really quite great! --- Beer merged from original tick of Original Ritterguts Gose on 31 Jul 2017 at 18:59 - Score: 7. Original review text: Digestif

Pour is a cloudy orange with a large white head. Aroma is lactic sourness with a nice citrus bite. Flavor is a decent tartness followed by a citrus bite and slight salt. Finishes leaves a lot of that sour tartness on the tongue. It’s not over the top sour or salty just the right amount to clean the palate. Can’t say I’ve had many gose’s but this is a decent drinking beer after a day at the salt mine.

Bottle. Hazy orange liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of bread, lemon, light salt, light leather, earth, lacto and light coriander. Taste is dry and light to medium sour with notes of lemons, salt, light earth and bread. Light to medium bodied with high carbonation. Really good, balanced and refreshing. More refined than the modern American counterparts.

Bottle, 50 cl. Hazy yellow, lots of white foam, sinks quickly and leaves a lot of lacings. Aroma is slight tart, almost vinegar, belgian yeast and hints of hay. Taste is fresh, with slight citrusy tartness, hints of flowers and some salt. Zero bitterness. Ends slightly tart and with a dryness reminiscent of salt. Medium body, soft carbo, kind of soft liquid. This was refreshing as hell, a perfect summer beer.

Flaska från SB. Disig, gyllengul lågt skum som snabbt försvinner. Snällt syrlig, en aning sälta, lätt kropp, degsmak, låg beska. Rolig och annorlunda, men lite tröttsam i längden. Bra måltidsdryck.
