In 1824 master brewer Johann Philipp Ledermann came to the small village Döllnitz near Halle and started brewing Gose at Döllnitz Manor. The brewery continued to brew gose till WW 2. After the war the manor brewey was dismantled and the original gose was brewed at several places up till 2015.

Since 2015 we brew our "Original Ritterguts Gose" in close collaboration with Brauerei Reichenbrand in Chemnitz. This small, classic family-brewery fulfills all the requirements necessary for the optimization of our very special brewing process -- in particular the availability of open-fermentation, which we consider a primary component in making a proper gose.

Bottle 500ml @ Gastropuben KICK Malt & Mat, Kristiansand Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, coriander and hint of sourness and apples. Taste is light sweet and light sour with a long fruity and salty finish. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

33cl bottle from Meny, Ringnes park. Pours hazy golden to orange with a white head. Lightly wheaty aroma with some malty, fruity and yeasty notes. Sour and lightly salty. Moderate sweet, citric and sour. Finishes quite dry, moderate acidic and bitter. Nice and refreshing. (2013-10-17)

First stab at this style, so I’ll use Berliner Weisse and gueuze as references. Also reminiscent of a sour ale. Darker in color than above mentioned styles, aroma of vinegar, cider, and light malt. Taste is cider, malt and hints of the salt used in the process. This a regional specialty, and its own unique style. I’ll go the experts on this one, pretty good stuff

Klar orange i fargen med fint hvitt skum. Korn, litt sitron og urter. Litt sur med gress, urter og sitrus. Medium bitter

Clear, brassy gold with a thin white head... Tart lemon aroma. Clingy, sticky lemon malt taste. Mild saltiness. Nice and understated.

0.5l bottle. Clear light orange body, quickly disappearing white head, lively carbonation. Aroma of lemon juice, orange and bread. Taste of lemon juice and bread, maybe with some banana and a hint of spicyness. Sour and salty at the same time. Very refreshing beer. I like it.

Pours hazy amber into a pilsner glass. White head with little retention recedes to skim surface leaving spot lacing. Sour earth aromas. Sweet cherry and sourdough front to back. Dry lasting salt finish.

Bottle (courtesy of NeoHippie - thanks). Lactic lemon and wheat malt. Slightly hazy golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet-tart lemon and wheat malt flavor - hint of salt in the finish. Very tasty - easy drinking.
