Description
In 1824 master brewer Johann Philipp Ledermann came to the small village Döllnitz near Halle and started brewing Gose at Döllnitz Manor. The brewery continued to brew gose till WW 2. After the war the manor brewey was dismantled and the original gose was brewed at several places up till 2015.
Since 2015 we brew our "Original Ritterguts Gose" in close collaboration with Brauerei Reichenbrand in Chemnitz. This small, classic family-brewery fulfills all the requirements necessary for the optimization of our very special brewing process -- in particular the availability of open-fermentation, which we consider a primary component in making a proper gose.

Bottle: Poured a hazy hay color gose with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of tart notes is pretty dominant with some light salty notes also distinguishable. Taste is also dominated by some salty notes with quite strong tart notes. Body is quite full with great carbonation. Not bad but not what I was expecting at all. A lot more tart and lactic acid notes then expected with almost no coriander.

Hazy dark golden colour. Fruity aroma, mostly apple. Sour and acidic flavour like a gueze. Some citrus and moderate sweet fruity. Complex and very fresh beer.

Bottle thanks to GRG1313. Pours with a clear golden body with a small white head that fades. Aromas are of sulfur, lemon juice, grainy, sour and salty. Apple juice and mild coriander. Flavors are of coriander, lactic acid, and apple juice. Pretty strong tartness. Lingering salty tinge on the tongue. Lively bubbles and dry.

Bottled 500ml. -from Bier Imperium, Vienna. Dark golden coloured, medium sized white head that went away fast, light yeasty nose. Moderate malty, acidic yeasty and citric taste with hint of spices near the end. Interesting and refreshing.

Hmm.. This ranges from crud to great. Never tasted anything like it. Wheat beer.. but really sour and salty. Sometimes even too much. Gets better when not so cold, but still needs a lot of attitude. Oh, what the hell. Stuffs like this deserve to be noted.

Interesting. Somewhat like lambic (duh?), refreshing and nice. The fruit taste is nice, but there should be more beery taste coming through. Yet another pleasant experience.

(Bottle, 0.5 l, at Gastropub Tuulensuu, 20110719) The beer poured golden and cloudy. Its head was medium sized, dense and white. Aroma had yeast, hops, smoke and sea water. Palate was light bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were saltiness, sourness, yeast, hops, fruitiness and low bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and mildly bitter. This was the first gose I have tried and I am not disappointed. A bit weird style but not bad. The saltiness was not off-putting.
