Description
In 1824 master brewer Johann Philipp Ledermann came to the small village Döllnitz near Halle and started brewing Gose at Döllnitz Manor. The brewery continued to brew gose till WW 2. After the war the manor brewey was dismantled and the original gose was brewed at several places up till 2015.
Since 2015 we brew our "Original Ritterguts Gose" in close collaboration with Brauerei Reichenbrand in Chemnitz. This small, classic family-brewery fulfills all the requirements necessary for the optimization of our very special brewing process -- in particular the availability of open-fermentation, which we consider a primary component in making a proper gose.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Starts fruity-sourish, a bit sweet. Finish more sourish, remind of Gose. Not bad, but also not really good.

My first Gose. Bottle at Wachi. Lager-like medium golden appearance, with a low, thick head. Acidy aroma, milky, citrus, salty, if that’s possible. Lactic acid flavor, with salt. Very fruity, lots of citrus. Very refreshing, with an interesting mix of flavors. Not amazing, but fascinating and very drinkable.

Re-rate 3/12/16: Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Ofri. 4 months after BBD. Cloudy pale yellow. Aroma of coriander, wheat, salt, citrus, mild lacto. Flavor is salty, tart, with some fruitiness and some coriander. Slightly too aged, but still very nice and easy-drinking. 7/4/7/3/15=3.6
(6/22/08) Draught at Ohne Bedenken in Leipzig. Hazy golden with a big white head with slowly-bursting bubbles. Aroma of wheat and some coriander and citrus. Sourish flavor with wheat, some lemon, coriander and light saltiness. Medium-bodied and a very rounded mouthfeel. Very good and refreshing but I would prefer a Berliner Weisse over this. 7/4/7/4/15=3.7
