Description
Cross Borders’ origins trace back to an illicit biscuit cartel run by our two founders in primary school. This brewery IS THE RESULT OF YEARS OF friendship, HARD WORK, EXPERIENCE, AND a refusal to grow up. Based in leafy midlothian we brew braw beer you’ll want to drink again and again (responsibly of course).

Third of a cask pint at the Scottish Real Ale Festival in Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange on 7th July 2017. Red hue to the grubby brown body, cream coloured head. A lot more malts than hops in the aroma and taste, hops add a little balance and bitterness but are overshaddowed by the maltiness throughout.

Re-rate from bottle thanks to Gary. Major gusher so expecting to get an infection on nose and palate. However, these were fresh and flavoursome. New rating 3.4 so averaged at 3.3. Previous rating 16/07/17 6+4+6+4+12=3.2 On cask @ SRAF. Golden amber and hazy. Loads of plant stalks and resin notes on the nose. Also burnt toffee. More of the same on the taste. Not sure these were the best serving conditions. Will try again another time.
