Tap at Gremlin. Aroma is grassy, bit of earthiness, bit of skunk, sweaty. Taste is good, lots of grain, malty, light bitterness, very easy drinking. Quite enjoyable

Tap at Yellow Ape. Nice, light fruit, light bitterness, hides the strength well, easy drinking. Bit malty.

Tap at Brewdog. Dark brown, no head. Aroma is lots of coffee grounds, roasty. Taste is similar, but with a hint of orange there. If it wasn't in the description, not sure I would have spotted it. Slight sweetness. Slick and oily. Further down orange comes out a bit more. Quite smooth and quite nice. n

Tap at Cafe de Tete. Smoky and roasty, lots of yuzu, bubblegum, bit of belgian yeastiness, pretty full on. Milky coffee, chocolate, cream, perfume. Bit of a mix. Unsure how much I like it. Middling score as I'm really not sure.

Tap at Edobori Beer Belly. Dark brown colour with white head of small bubbles. Aroma is lightly hoppy, and quite malty. Taste is malty with chocolate elements and a bit of wheat. Bitter finish. Nice. Update: 19/5/13 more caramel aroma, Vienna like. Much darker colour though. Taste is sweet malty. Nice. Think I was a bit harsh last time.

Bottle at home from Tokyu Food Show. Dark amber/light brown colour, bit cloudy, small bubbly golden head. Aroma is bit sweet, lots of malt, maybe almost toffee, and some sugar, but with plenty of grassy hops in there too. Taste is initally bitter but rounds off into sweet maltiness which then fades with a touch of citrus. Really not what I was expecting, and very welcome. Feels quite well rounded and smooth in the mouth, and the alcohol is well hidden. Really like it.

Keg at the Watering Hole. Hazy pale blond colour with small white head. Aroma is wheaty and grainy with a touch of creaminess. Some fruity citrus there too and a bit of delicate spiciness. Maybe white pepper. Taste is nice and wheaty at the start and then the yuzu citrus comes in. Slightly lime-like. Bit of belgian yeastiness too. Slight prickle in the mouth. Very refreshing and crisp. Perfect for the heat. Tried again in the winter, and found it not so exciting this time. Maybe it's a weather thing. Marks will meet half way.

Handpump at Beer Republic. Pale golden blond colour, small creamy beige head. Aroma yeasty, creamy, bit apricot, peach, touch of citrus, bit floral. Taste not as exciting, but still nice. Touch of orange and fruit. Bit wheat malt. Slight bitterness. Very smooth in mouth. Creamy in texture. Nice if a little unspectacular. Re-rate at Minoh brewery from the bottle. Aroma this time is full on grapefruit hops. Taste is a bit more subtle, nice bitterness, but creamy and grainy too and a bit yeasty. Very easy to drink. Tasted different, but same score.
