Deep brown in color with a tan head that sticks around, I guess it is an amber lager which took me by surprise. Bready cocoa aroma with a spice component that had me thinking cinnamon. Very raspy carbonation that scratched up my tastebuds with it’s thin watery seeming body. The taste is alright, chocolate buns, cocoa paste and a bit of molasses. I guess it should be reclassified as a bock...

Bottle shared at THT. Almost clear light golden with white head. Lychee, some pine, quite flowery, soft grass, sweet pils malts, sugar. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied.

Sampled from bottle at THT June at kwartje. Slightly hazy golden with white head. Sweet malts, light tropical, light fudge, bit of vanilla. Quite sweet and moderate bitter. Tap at AB. I tried to get a Shiga I’ton IPA but ’twas sold out so I got stuck with this Minoh Hoppy Weizen. After my horrible experience at their 20th Anniversary Event. I didn’t really want to order a Minoh beer even if I’ve never had it.

I got lucky as this one was a cloudy gold like a NE IPA with a fragrant citrusy (lemon drops?) hop bouquet and light cloves. Medium to light bodied, almost watery. The taste was sulfur eggy Weizen with a sweet caramel evocative of a weizenbock (kind of cloying) but little evidence of hops. So from the promising aroma I crashed back down to the reality of Minoh - inconsistent and uneven beers. Not a bad beer but just borderline good, about what you can expect from most Minoh beers unless you’re unlucky and get one that is off. Did not grow on me, rather it got cloying...
