Tap at Craft Beer Live Osaka 2017. PRetty cloudy gold. Nice NZ hop nose, citrus, mango, funky fruit, cloves. Peppery finish, well ripe tropical fruit.

Hazy medium golden color. Frothy white head. Nice piney nose with soapy notes and some odd stewed apricots, but hop character is nicely defined. Biscuit malt, pine and soapy dominate the mouth. Light dry and bitter. Not grassy or over attenuated. Nice stuff. Enjoying this outside my apartment watching fireworks with my wife, makes it just a bit more enjoyable.

Bottle courtesy of Rasmus. Pours hazy amber brown colour with a modest off-white head. Aroma of hop, orange, floral, malt, caramel, light chocolate and light pine. Medium plus sweetness and bitterness. Medium body, oily texture is oily, soft carbonation. Finish is bitter and zesty.

Minoh Smoke Weizen 5% Bottle from Kyoto Aeon Mall Asano Saketen. 640¥. A milky cloudy gold with an aroma of ham. The taste is ham, cloves and liquid smoke. Zesty body with a raspy carbonation. A weird though intriguing brew.

This was brewed to celebrate the launch of CBB Garden so that is where I drank it. A copper orange with a filmy beige head. The aroma is fruity hops and sweet caramel malts. The taste is raspy pine, woodsy then fruit with a good balancing sweetness and a kind of husked malt bread in the finish.

Tap at Koumin. Nose is a bit spicy, lemony hops, biscuity malt. Deep amber-orange color. Sweet, nice citrus fruit flavor, well made but not so original.

Present from my friend Luis after a trip he made to Japan: thanks! 33 cl bottle served in red wine glass. Pours hazy bright amber. Off-white head is abundant, thick and good-lacing. Aroma is very intense: spruce, pine, cypress, resin, along with bitter citrus such as grapefruit, pomelo and kumquat. A nice hint of black tea is also present. Taste is dry, bold and refreshingly crisp. Finish is very -very bitter and long-lasting. Very nice indeed.

Bottle, gift from the visiting Dane’s, cheers! Pours a hazy pale orange / golden colour with a small bubbly off white head. Subtle aroma of hop, tropical fruit, apricot. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Light to medium body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. An easy drinker.

Bottle from the brewery. Clear orange-red in color with a thick beige head in my lager glass with a peppery spicy pine hop bouquet - piquante. Medium bodied with toffee and biscuit plus huge hops... I’d say it’s solidly in the Red IPA range.

Tap at Takumi. Cloudy red-orange, pretty, with lace. Malty, bready, earthy nose, caramel and grass. Rich bready mal, spicy, earthy hops. Crisp and full. Tasty. Not too sweet, just enough to make it nice. Toasty. Lovely stuff.
