33cl bottle from allmyvinyl. Appearance - cloudy orange with a nicely proportioned head. Nose - sweet but sour, some biscuits of course. Taste - big orange cream with a dry biscuit finish. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a lovely dry finish. Overall - really lovely, not sure what has happened with the other ratings. Confusing, Confucius!

Minoh’s Masaji Project beer this year was a Belgian Stout made with Yuzu. On tap it was listed as 5.5% but this bottle says 5%. In the pint glass it gives me roasty coffee & cacao notes, some spices(cinnamon, vanilla) with an underlying yuzu aroma. While in a snifter it gives more of a smooth cacao & yuzu aroma. Either way it smells great! This beer is smooth & full bodied while the taste is super yuzu, then chocolate & coffee but the yuzu really lingers. Kind of overpowers the beer, if it sat 6 months it’d probably mellow out & really hit it’s peak. ---Feb 2014---on tap at Beer Belly Temma, it has mellowed out quite a bit, you still get lots of yuzu in the nose but also some dark malt caracteristics. The taste is coffee & yuzu which isn’t so overpowering.

Tap at Tenma BB. Lovely Belgian stout nose: orange chocolate, coriander, coffee, licorice. Just right. Shiny pitch black with a low, fine head. Lovely. Tons of yuzu flavor that overwhelms the rest. Yuzu is overdone. There is then some coffee and spice and just a touch of chocolate where you want more of that. A bit think in body. Still good, but can’t live up to that great nose.

Real Ale at Tenma. Golden color, light amber tint, clear, with low lace. Nice crisp lemon, orange, grass, good hoppy nose. Light golden malt, spices. Good malty flavor, spicy hops, peppery, nice tingly bitterness. Light, oily, a bit soapy. On the hand pump, this comes across as a very nice English Golden or light bitter, though with American hops. Very good session beer.

Draft - caramel, strawberries and slightly vinous. Deep amber with a thin white head. A bit sweet berries but decent although a bit one sided. Sour a bit and you have a winner.

Draft - Fruity tropical sweetness. Copper with a rich white head. Nice and hoppy with tropical fruit. Grapefruit in the finish. Really nice APA, but not an amber.

Draft - Mild grapefruit. Clear gold with a thin white head. Big grapefruit and bitterness, touch of resin. A nice west coast style IPA, but nothin complex.

Bottle from Tap East, Westfield, Stratford. Deep, dark brown colour with a tight beige head. Nice aroma of coffee, spice and toast. Good body, rich, quite thick, rather oily in texture. Slightly bitter chocolate finish. Pretty good.

600 yen on tap at Temma Beer Belly 5.5%. An amber pour with an inch of off-white foamy head. A hoppy pine/citrus aroma on a full body. Crisp carbonation, nice balance between the fruity hop bitterness & a malt sweetness with a bit of a bite followed by a lingering bitterness.

600 yen half-pint on tap at the Tenma Beer Belly. A coffee/chocolate nose with a creamy smooth coffee flavor. Very easy to drink, sweet stout goodness. Creamy coffee taste, good stuff.
