(Bottle 25 cl) Pilsener golden with a fantastic, creamy head leaving broad curtains of lace in my glass. Aroma of soaked, unfermented grain. Surprisingly low carbonation. Watery body with some traces of malt, but basically no bitterness. Nothing sinful about this. 150506

Tap. Had this while on vacation in Barcelona. A typical pale lager. Quite refreshing when really chilled. Better than a bud for sure.

Large 1 litre bottle last night 06-04-06. Had this on umpteen occasion’s and to be fair despite not always being a fan of Pale Lagers I seem to have a slight soft spot for Spanish one’s. Fairly standard pale yellow lager with medium white head, some malt, nice bitterness and certainly more drinkable than many others of this type.

Think Budweiser. Maybe add a little more hops and perhaps a slightly better aroma. That’s about it. This beer is everywhere in Spain and is a typical macrobrewed pale lager, meaning it’s thin, watery, fizzy, yellow, etc. It’s suitable for eventually getting you buzzed if you drink a lot of it and that’s about it. But in Spain it’s the only Spanish beer you’ll see most places. Every bar seemed to have Heineken, Amstell Light, and San Miguel on tap (2 out of 3 not even Spanish). I gather the Spanish aren’t known for beer.

Medium white fine-laced head. Clear, pale golden body with ongoing carbonation. Faint aroma of noble hops. Sweetish, malty taste, quite weak. Some taste of corn, and faintly of grass. Hardly any aftertaste, just a soft rounding off. A well-made, but terribly boring pilsener.

Golden near beer with a nice white head. Kinda sweet funky malt aroma, maybe due to bad rincing of the glass, a bit gueuzy...what? In mouth, corny reisudues, mixed the waste water you get when you cook shrimps in beer. Maybe its that cheese I ate before. A rather awful concoction. Bought at the Majorca airport, March 2005. Drunk on my b-day, off all dates...jeez!
