Can - I’ll admit that I bought this because it was cheap - 10.99 for a 6 pack of tripel at a moment when I’m a little light on cash? Why the fuck not? - it’s got it’s flaws, but really not bad considering my expectations - medium sweet, but finishes dry, moderately bitter, with moderately peppery phenolic character - a bit of pear and a very mild flinty character on the tail end - a little rusticity on the tail end - it’s not great, but I’m pleasantly surprised.

Pour is a hazy gold with a large white head. Aroma is a slight fruit ester with some vanilla yeast. Flavor is more of that vanilla yeast ester with some cara malt and a some citrus fruit pop at the end. Not so much a triple I think this is more Belgian golden ale. Decent all around with the yeast taking a front seat.

Taste from a bottle at J&K Liquors. Aged in a Woody Creek whiskey barrel, per the label. Pours black, with a small, fleeting, brown head. The aroma is dark chocolate, walnuts, toffee, some earth and peat, and a lot of oak. Sweet and syrupy, with a light, sharp bitterness. Medium to heavy body, with a acerbic, gritty, syrupy mouthfeel. This is a nice, aromatic, balanced, and boozy stout. The mouthfeel is kinda thin and off, though.
