Brown color with medium ashy head. Aroma: lots of smoke - maple glazed bacon, oaky smoke, sweetish roasted malt notes far behind the puff. Taste: assertive smokiness bit lightly roasted character of Brown with breadish, nuttish and berriesh tones is also present. Medi body, moderate carbonation, low to moderate bitterness. Not aj easily drinking one, not everyday thirst quencher, still perfect, rated as daň of smoked beers.

Cask at Picture House, Stafford. Pours a dark ruby with a small cream head. Malts are to the fore in the aroma. Sharpness is the initial sensation in the mouth, but quickly the rich ,creamy, malty texture asserts itself. Some chocolate and a hint of coffee come along in due course. Finish is quite bitter and slightly spicy. This is rather nice.
